Hi folks,

There's a lot of conflicting info. in this forum, so I need a simple answer to the above question.

If so, what's the best place to get it: KT, SK, or Apple Store (Frisbee) to get it? I mean best English language support, best service, etc.

Chris from KT - if you're on here, I'd love if you would confirm this!

I'm on an E2 and got an iPhone for $0 down; however, it was through a Korean with whom I share a complete trust. Your results will largely depend on the dealer, 99% of them won't let a weigook on an E2 sign up for a free iPhone. The shortest contract I know of for a $0 iPhone 3 is 13 months, and an E2 doesn't last that long.

If you go to one of the KT Show global stores you can get an iPhone 4 on a 2 year contract with an E2 visa, with no initial payment/deposit. Just remember you must have at least 3 months on your visa.

Got mine just a couple of weeks back.

E2s need 6 months left and a Korean credit card. Unless they've changed it in the last couple months.
other visas only require 3 months and the credit card requirement is waived. KTs official pamphlet here:

They may have changed things or someone may have been generous. I might not expect it unless you got it in writing though.

I was told I had to have 6 months left on my visa.

As I said, 3 mo. left on visa + bank book and you're golden.

(at least that was the situation at the Itaewon KTShow global branch)

And as they said, they were told 6. Someone may have let you slide. I wouldn't count on it.

The policy is 3 months of validity left on your visa. The only recent change that I'm aware of are for student visas, because a bunch of Chinese students opened contracts and jetted back to China. I was told it hit KT pretty hard.

For E2s drew? As recent as last October, E2s were not on the exempted list according to KT

ditto for the gwanghwamun store, went on saturday and the staff was wonderful despite the place being mobbed. there is a 24,000 won activation fee which is spread over 3 months and a 30,000 won contract guarantee fee again those can be paid out
