I started a new six-month contract this year at a Korean national university. My question is: if I renew for another six months, will I be eligible for one month's severance at the end of my second six-month term? Or does severance only apply to employees on twelve-month contracts?
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who's been in the same situation.

IF the university enrolls you in the private pension plan you are not entitled to severance.
If they do not then you are entitled to severance of 1 month's pay for each FULL YEAR worked (labor law) and it has nothing to do with the contracts.
