Hi all,
I was thinking about going to China for an indefinite period of time before finding a teaching job in Seoul. If I arrive in Korea with the proper documents (Apostillized Federal CBC, Sealed Transcripts, Apostillized Photocopy of Uni Diploma), would it be straightforward to find a job there that would hire me more or less immediately?
Potential pitfalls that I could think of include: having to return to the USA to have visa processed, no job market for job applicants within the country with NO teaching experience, other costly/lengthy visa/immigration issues, really expensive rent in Seoul, etc.
Conversely, are there any perks to this? Could I get, for example, a better job by already being in Seoul and, for instance, not requiring employer to pay airfare?
Thanks for the help.

Have you obtained and E-2 visa before?
If not, do not try and get it for the first time here. You will be required to return to your country of origin to have an interview at the consulate.
Also, chances are, if you are hired in the country for the first time, they are not going to be paying your airfare to and from your home country to finish the application process.
First timers, search from home! |
