I have "English Pronunciation in Use (advanced)" by Martin Hewings (Cambridge) and I like some of the topics it covers.
Such as:
-pronunciation in fast speech
-pronunciation of consonant clusters (i.e. sounds getting dropped or not pronounced)
-Stress
-Intonation
While it's decent, I don't like some of their examples and all their rules seem to follow British English. Can anyone else recommend some good books for pronunciation? |

I recommend "Sound Foundations" by Underhill. It's a great book with some great resources to put into practice in the classroom. Otherwise, get an iPad and the British Council Phonemic Chart - check out my blog for more info. |
