I was offered what seemed like a good price on a Crafter, but I was hesitant as I've never heard of them. Anyone know about them? |

Crafter range from low end to high-medium end guitars. They're fairly well known outside of Korea which says a lot I guess - I've never heard of any of the other Korean makes before. Best thing to do is ask for the serial number and look for reviews on google. |

Korean brand, they make some OK guitars. Nothing that compares with a high-end Martin or Taylor, but quite passable. I've got a Crafter, err, FE something or other, not sure about the model, it's a small-jumbo guitar. ie jumbo style body the size of a dreadnaught. It plays and sounds great, only ran me 350'000won. |

Crafter make decent guitars. Of course they don't compare to highend manufactures like Martin, Taylor, Guild and the other marquee brands. But, you do get a lot more bang for your buck with Korean made guitars in Korea. A solid top, laminate back & sides Taylor (100/200 series) will set you back more than 1.5 million at Nagwon. The equivalent guitar by Crafter would be about 200k. An all wood could be picked up for 350,000+.
You rarely find US guitars cheap here because Nagwon quotes their prices as follows RRP+shipping+import tax+profit.
You can usually get around a 20% discount off the first number they quote you, but that's still more than you'd pay outside Korea.
Anyway, use your ears to decide if it's a good guitar or not. Never pay before you play. Good luck |

I tried the guitar and it looked, felt and sounded quite good. I'm a bit concerned about build quality. I bought a Cort hollow-body and after a while, the pickups and the bridge have started to come loose and the input jack is a bit iffy. |

I bought a single cut away acoustic with internal pickup about five years, and have had no problems whatsoever. It cost around 400,000, I play it almost every day, and it still looks and feels great. As the other guys have said, it's not a Martin or Taylor, but you're not going to get much better value in Korea. |

BTW Crafter guitars are generally of a much higher quality than Cort. |

Oops, I lied. Mine's a Cort. I've played a few Crafters though, they are generally of higher quality than Cort. |

I bought a Swing that's a great guitar for the money...I think it plays a lot nicer than a friend's similarly priced Crafter. |
