I found this site yesterday and signed-up without an invite. I was surprised at the volume of traffic and the number of torrents.

http://www.torrentbytes.net/index.php

Downloading some things now and the speeds are excellent.

hmmm...I just logged out and clicked on sign-up. Type in the confirmation code. You should be good to go. Just pay attention to their unusual rules for site names and passwords. Took me a couple of tries since I wasn't paying attention.

What's the confirmation code? Does that not mean invite code?

I'll toss these here since I can never find the *trading* site.

I have 2 IP Torrents invites to whomever wants them. IP Torrents is a very large general tracker (low-level) with good overall speeds, loads of Freeleech stuff and reasonable ratio requirements.

If you're interested, please send me an e-mail.

Do NOT offer a trade of any kind! Do NOT PM me about these.

Cheers!

Edit: Only have 2.

10 character pw that contains both uppercase and lowercase letters (they don't tell you about that part)... more bad design decisions.

lol...check out the third post in this thread. I mentioned something about that... Wink

Anyways, you're in right? Like I said previously, it's a little unusual for a site with this many active torrents/users to have open sign-up.

I'm in, but its a frustrating password that I may not remember. I have 2 passwords: a shorter one for forums (5-6 chars) and a longer one for more important stuff (banking etc).

I took a software design class in college. Over complicating a password can actually make it LESS secure because people need to write their passwords down. At the very least it cuts down usability. The standard for passwords is 8 chars mix letters and numbers for important things like credit cards. This, with a decent enough password will keep you safe from a brute force attack. Any more is an annoyance to the user with MAYBE minimal security gain. For a site that has no personal information, its absurd.

TheOatmeal has some very good comics on website coding. As he said: "If I want to make my password 'boobs' its my own shitty decision and you should let me roll with it".

Rant finished.

Great! I just checked and sign-ups are still open. For people who have never tried a private tracker, here's your chance to join a good one.

It's free. Why not check it out?
