Okay, so lately my phone line has been going dead, but only between the hours of 9 pm and 12:30 am. This is a little annoying, since the nearest pay phone is down the mountain, a half hour away. At first I thought it was just my phone, because my internet connection works fine. It seems a little coincidental that it happens at the same time every night, though. Any theories on what's happening?

Thanks for the link and info...

But seriously. Don't get a cell phone. Reasons why.

1. They are rude. OK you are in the bar or talking to another person in the street. Phone rings. So now you talk to whoever called. That is rude. Sorry. Can't talk anymore... Gotta talk to whoever.

2. If people contact you at home and you're not there. Get an answering machine.

3. Everyone has one and spends more time talking to everyone else about nothing in particular.

"Oh hello. Yeah... We're at the bus station. You coming. Hmm... Aha... Five minute... Oh... Ok...:

Did you really need to make that call.

They are just awful things?

Cellphones are great. Why?

1. Turn it on vibrate, or off. If it vibrtates you can ignore it and call the person back later, and/or the person can leave a message. If it's off, the voice mail will go on.

2. They can contact you anywhere you are, if you want them to.

3. It happens. But if you don't do it, what's the problem? If someone makes that call to you, make sure it's the last one they make; tell them.

Sometimes that call needs to be made if you are running late.

Don't forget that they cause cancer, wipe clean the magnetic strips on subway tickets and credit cards(have experienced that), and I don't know how many times a day that I see people accidentally drop the damn things. It's really funny too, because it is usually more than once, they drop it, pick it up, oops, dropped it again.

OP, your land line seems messed up to me. Get the phone company in there to deal with it, they should do it for free. Had similar problems a few years ago, the phone company messed up our line installation. Evil or Very Mad

Cellphones are evil. They irritate me too much because people, in general, have such bad cell phone ettiquete. (ie Forgetting to turn the ringer off at a theatre or performance. Putting it on vibrate, but still answering it. Not answering it, but still needing to check messages every 10 minutes.)

It's my goal to be the last person in Korea without a cellphone.
