What is the typical annual income of a Korean ESL job?

I thought it was 20k but somebody told me teaching in SK or JP is 36k to 43k?

20K is about the minimun if you're an english teacher in Korea. What you need to remember is you are living rent free. If you are in the US you are also living tax free. If you have been teaching for a while you could be making around 25K. If you complete your contract you'll also find youself getting severance pay equal to what you make each month. So just calculate the yearly cost that you would be paying for rent and add that to what you'll be banking.
