|
|
Where in Seoul can I get my XBox 360 fixed? Got the red ring of death. Would prefer someplace in town, don't really wanna send it away. Warranty is well expired anyways. My console is stock, not modded.
Search isn't working for me for some reason, so my apologies if this has been covered before. Thanks. |

| Do any of the game shops in Youngsan fix the xboxes, or is there one you'd recommend? I'm a little leery about going to some hack shop at random. Got my old PS2 modded in Youngsan years ago, and they did a pretty bad job of it. And from what I've been reading, fixing the Xbox red ring of death isn't a very simple procedure (although not exactly rocket science either). |

doing it urself is probably the best bet if it's an older model. the place that fixed mine stuck a bunch of heat insulators(band-aids) on about six processors. that was good in that it made it last another 6-8 months. the bad news is that they completely fried the graphics chip because they didn't fix it the right way the first time. wasn't fixable the second time. other option is garbage it and get a newer, better(?) one...

basically, yes. the tape is the same. however, they did absolutely nothing with the xclamps. the tape was plastered all over the chips on the underside of the mainboard. |

I don't want to be a wet blanket, but once you get the RROD it's is pretty much dead. You can get it repaired for a few extra months of play, but it WILL die again. I know from personal experience and a great deal of research trying to fix mine.
On that note. The new slim versions are terrific! I'm really liking how quiet they are. |

Not True!
Yes, most places in Yongsan use dubious methods.
The most common fix everywhere else in the world are replacing the screws.
I on the other hand now re-solder the ball grid array! |
