So I've looked at other discussion about teaching experiences at TPR, although they are old and some of them don't really answer some questions I have about the position.

Any input would be wonderful...
some of the things i'm wondering about is:

-what's the environment like there?
-are student-teacher relationship relatively good? (are the students the nit-picky types that complain about teachers to their parents)
-living situation (the whole 'we provide housing but not really' is confusing)
-how much prep time is really necessary? is it more work than it's worth?

Thanks in advance!

I think you may be better off working with another company. There are a lot better opportunities out there than working for TPR. But, if you're a newbie in the teaching field in Seoul, try it out.

I worked there in Apgujeong (압구정) one summer as a newbie but then found a much better job afterwards.

Working at TPR could be ideal for a tourist/teacher who wants the experience of working in a Korean corporate-like setting, impersonal and dry. I think there's a high turnover rate with a lack of a well-experienced teaching staff. Just don't mind the sloppy and lazy daily interface between HR and teaching staff. Theres also a lack of personal respect with upper management any decent employee could expect working with any other company. Finally, if you don't mind a little micromanagement, the CCVT cameras in each class you can get used to.

After a few weeks, you can get a real workout climbing numerous flights of stairs going to class when the building is full just a couple of elevators for swarms of students rushing to class. Oh yes! You get a free polo shirt with the TPR logo!
