I think you may be better off working with another company. There are a lot better opportunities out there than working for TPR. But, if you're a newbie in the teaching field in Seoul, try it out.
I worked there in Apgujeong (압구정) one summer as a newbie but then found a much better job afterwards.
Working at TPR could be ideal for a tourist/teacher who wants the experience of working in a Korean corporate-like setting, impersonal and dry. I think there's a high turnover rate with a lack of a well-experienced teaching staff. Just don't mind the sloppy and lazy daily interface between HR and teaching staff. Theres also a lack of personal respect with upper management any decent employee could expect working with any other company. Finally, if you don't mind a little micromanagement, the CCVT cameras in each class you can get used to.
After a few weeks, you can get a real workout climbing numerous flights of stairs going to class when the building is full just a couple of elevators for swarms of students rushing to class. Oh yes! You get a free polo shirt with the TPR logo! |
