My visa (the one in my passport) expires in April, but my ARC is good until June.
When I did my consulate interview, I did it 6 weeks before I came here, and so they put April on my visa - a year from the date of my interview.
Does this mean I have to leave in April, or do I stay until my ARC card (June) expires? |

To clarify, my visa expires in late April and my contract in June. What do I need to do?
With all the E2 changes, I am unsure. |

You go by the date on your ARC, which would be June. |

So, if I leave the country in June with a visa that expired in April, but before my ARC expires... i am okay? |

The visa in your passport is there solely to grant you entry into the country to begin work. Once you get your ARC, the dates on the card are the only dates that matter. The visa sticker in your passport is meaningless now. |

Your visa is no longer relevant.
The ONLY thing that matters is the expiry date on your ARC.
If your contract expires before your ARC does then no worry.
If your ARC expires before your contract then you need to get an extension.
Do NOT overstay your ARC or you will be in for a world of inconvenience at departure time AND if you ever want to work again in Korea.

But this also means I cannot leave the country after the visa expires, right?... even if the ARC is still valid. |

No.
It means your visa (the thing in your passport) has no meaning or relevance AFTER you get your ARC.
ALL registered foreigners have the right to leave and return without restriction as long as their ARC remains valid. Re-entry permits are no longer required (as of Dec. 1, 2010) for registered foreigners.

Are you granted a couple of days grace after your ARC expires or do you have to stick to the exact date? Mine expires June 1 but I'd like to work until June 2 if possible. |

There is NO grace period. You have to leave by by midnight on the date indicated on your ARC or go to immi and get an extension. The free up-to-30 day extension of departure means you cant work during the extension. You would have to pay and get a working extension to work that extra day. |

I called immigration and they said my ARC is the date to go by, but that the date on my visa stamp is date on which I can re-enter Korea.
Furthermore, if I extend my stay in Korea, what will they do with my visa stamp - do they extend it, or just leave it as is? I heard they put a stamp on your visa and a new date on your ARC. |
