Unions get things done in Korea
Management gave in to union demands for a new contract that laid out safety standards for the cranes operated by its members. The companies also agreed to hire the union's tower crane operators directly and to a hike in the minimum wage. The minimum wage is now about 2.2 million won per month.

but you don't get free housing and airfare. Plus you work a lot longer than 30 hours a week.
We still come out considerably ahead.  |
