There are some courses I need to take this summer, but I have run into a problem with taking them through my local community colleges. Most of them offer online courses but require proctored testing onsite. Since I will be in Korea at least until the end of June, that will be impossible. The courses I most need to take are Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology. There are some allied health programs I want to apply to starting in the Fall and they all require these courses to be completed. I checked into Devry but they charge over $500 per credit hours whereas I can take classes through a community college for $118 per credit hour. Does anyone know of any reputable schools that offer these courses completely online at a reasonable rate?

I've taken medical terminology and if you are motivated, you can probably do some self study and test out of it. Anatomy and Physiology are going to have lab components so you are unlikely to find a good online course in these subjects. Knowing some medical terminology will help you when you take these courses...and the anatomy coloring book is a good study aid that I've seen in bookstores here.

Thanks, but the medical terminology course is not something that I can test out of. I have to take the course in order to get into the programs I am looking into.

You can also check with your college to see if proctoring can, in fact, be done in Korea. I've completed a couple courses that required proctoring, and I was able to do it here. I just needed to find a professor/librarian/teacher who was willing to proctor me. Check with your school to see if they'll work with you.

Right, can't suggest a course/college but I did want to offer my experience with proctoring in Korea.

I was lucky enough to use someone at a university that had a university email. I needed someone that was acceptable under the guidelines and had a recognized institution email. Do you work at a uni or know someone who does? There was no fee.

And for some reason, I am under the impression that there is a proctoring service in Korea. Not too sure though. Perhaps there's someone out there who could point you in the right direction.

Good luck!

Also, check out the correspondence course at Seattle Community College.
They have one in medical terminology.

I did a history course with them as a prereq for my Master's, and it was great.
