Sorry in advance. Searched the stickies, searched the site, searched through google but didn't have any luck.
I have had no problems getting a CBC and sealed transcripts before but now I am coming across this Apostille certificate thing that I haven't been able to find my answers to.
Now the information I have gotten so far is that it has to be done in your home country at the nearest korean consulate to the college you graduated from - is this correct?
If so, can the certificate be mailed to that particular consulate or do I need to physical enter that consulate in my home country with the certificate?
I am in Korea now and my current contract expires Aug 31. The nearest consulate from my college is 1000 miles away. I have no one that I know living near the Korean consulate there and I wouldnt expect relatives to get on a plane and go their on my behalf.
Is there a place where we can have it done in Seoul? If so can someone please enlighten me. Also, what other documents do they need for this Apostille Certificate - I.D. etc?
Thanks (sorry if this info is in this website but I can't find it) |

when you sent in your CRC you should have had it signed by the FBI so you can send it to the office of the secretary without getting it notarized.
http://os.dc.gov/os/cwp/view,a,1207,q,522462.asp#document
for your degree, you will need to get a copy notarized and then send it to the secretary of state in the state where you got the degree to be apostilled.
i am in the process now. good luck! |

Thanks for the input. But it still doesnt answer my question: do I physically have to go to the nearest Embassy to my college - meaning make a special trip |

hrmmm...I need some help as welln. I already have my CBC and need to get the apostille for it asap. I'm going to take it to the SOJ closes to me which is in Sacramento.
I already tried this once. First I brought the CBC to the notary and he made a copy of it, i brought the notarized copy to get authenticated at city hall (San Francisco) then i mailed it tout to the SOJ. This wasn't good enough and my recruiter told me the apostille needs to be on the actual CBC document.
My recruiter says that I need to get the CBC notorized first, before I take it to the SOJ.
My question is, since the notary will be making a copy of the CBC how do I get the Apostille on my original CBC? Do I need to get a copy of the CBC notarized and bring along my orignal document and have them affix the apostille on both? or do I just bring my original document without it being notarized to the SOJ?
Thanks, I know this is a bunch of crap. |

I have my prints (no CBC sent for yet), original diploma, and transcripts with me here in Korea. Can I get everything done from Korea? I would assume I can get the Diploma notarized here, but Apostilled? Apostille question for the CBC too. So, I guess I'm wondering where to have the CBC sent after I get it back from FBI, too? If I have to take care of the Apostille/Notarizations in the states then it creates some timing issues. Any thoughts? Also, I've seen mention of people using Diploma copies. Is hauling around the original a bad thing? I have 2 diplomas in the states if needed. |

I think I am going with apostile.com to get everything done. Its a bit expensive, but they do it all. I am just waiting on asnwer about needing to have my original notarized in Korea or not. It's all such a hassle and now some people might out of jobs before their paperwork even comes back!!! |

The process varies by country and if from the US, state by state.
Where are you from?
