Today, I handed over the flight info for my ticket out of here. I wanted to know a date when my GEPIK school will be able to reimburse me for the cost of the flight. My co-teacher has told me that I will receive the money once I am back home.

I had to push the point with him a number of times that the flight is reimbursed before I leave. He doesn't seem to want to agree. Knowing a few things about the organisation of my school the last thing I would want to do is leave without the money I am entitled to.

Every person I know who has completed a GEPIK contract has purchased the ticket themselves and has then received the money before they left. I'm wondering if anyone knows if there has been a change to this system?

I am in the same boat and they tried it with the other teacher I worked with at theis school. My ex co-teacher fought it and got his money before he left, so I think that is the only option to go for. I am going to probably have to argue with my supervisor for my money but I do not want to leave my school without the money. So maybe contact our district co-ordinator as well, get the official word, though it sounds like they will say it is up to the school.

It looks like common sense has prevailed because my school has decided to book and pay for my flight ticket themselves.

Apparently, there are now two ways of booking the ticket. The school can book directly or you can be reimbursed once you return home. I'm not sure how true this is because my girlfriend and another friend will both be booking there own tickets and will be reimbursed by their respective GEPIK schools before they leave Korea next month.

I suppose this serves as a warning to those who are planning to play the system and go on an extended trip around Asia using that flight money. They do expect you to go home!
