This fascinated me, and I am wondering what could cause a goose to do this if the man is said not feed it. Yes, he is carrying around bread in the video, but it mentions that the goose doesn't need coaxing to follow him around like this. It also tries to fly home with him. |

Who knows. That is interesting. I've heard of newly hatched geese or ducks imprinting on a human being but I've never heard of an adult bird doing the same thing. Maybe the goose is a reincarnation of a former friend or girlfriend. I'm a little worried about what the goose will do when she has to be relocated. Hopefully, the man and his goose can still remain sweethearts. |

Geese follow people around and beg for food all the time.
This one just knows that he'll always keep bringing it to her.
It's akin to a dog begging for a treat. Nothing special, the only thing that's blowing people's mind is that it follows him home, which, considering he is feeding it, doesn't really raise my eyebrows.
It's just an animal milking a situation for all it's worth. What's weirder is the way he was talking to it like it understood him, or even gave a crap about him and not his pita bread. |

lol thats what I was thinking. He just wanted everyone around him to think he has special telepathic linguistic skills with the goose. |

The goose has an unusually strong attachment to him in particular. Maybe it could be just food but I doubt it. I'm sure there are plenty of people in the park who like to feed the geese. It's not like they are starving. If he is such a reliable source of food, why aren't other geese following him around the same way? I've had ducks or geese come after me aggressively for food, but I've never had one follow me around, try to go home with me, or attack other animals who got near me.
Anyway, they both seem happy with their little romance. |

Geese are symbolic to something...espically in flock travel.

Animals, including birds can form close emotional bonds with people. And they are certainly not stupid.
Geese are famous for being loyal guard-dogs. They are very territorial and will attack just about anything. |

Yes, I know a thing or two about animal behaviour. Just take a look at most of the comments on this forum and you'll quickly realize various posters cannot be human and therefore must be animals.
My pleasure. |
