There were some more details in one of the free subway newspapers a few days ago. Apparently, the man who buried the cash for his relatives (who were in prison) decided to borrow about $400,000. He then panicked when their release date drew nearer, so it occurred to him that the best thing to do would be to call the police and report it stolen. Naturally, a bit of investigation turned up the rest of the money. |
