I'm writing an assignment for my MA, and I need some stats from reputable sources on how many NSETs are in Korea, how much it costs etc. Is there anywhere I can get official data?

Thanks

Too many dancing monkeys. Too many people playing hangman bingo and jeopardy. Too many people who just want to entertain and be liked. Not enough people who have the courage to stand up to their co-teacher and actually teach.

This is the latest info I've seen.

You may need to open in IE.

Thanks for the link. I'm not feeling a lot of love in this thread. Maybe just a case of the Monday Blues?

People just think they are funny. Trolling and hijacking makes them the cool kids. I'm sure if they saw you on the streets they might yell, "Four eyes!"

Remember, that info from immigration is not the whole story. Plenty of folks are here on F series visas by marriage or by blood, a few by earning them. So depending on what specifically you're writing about, this may only partially help you.

I just want it more as a footnote, briefly describing the NSET program in Korea. It's not central to the assignment, but I thought it would be good for context.

This online newspaper says 22,000. But that was a year ago.

For who(m)? Us or the country? Are you writing a paper saying that we cost too much? Wink Where are you studying?

I'm not a self-hating NSET or anything like that. I'm writing a methodology paper, and I was just going to mention the co-teaching program briefly, and maybe try to analyze it's potential strengths and weaknesses. The stats are just a backdrop to provide some context. I can still write the paper without them, but I thought they would be worth a mention.

You need to narrow it down. Purely public school? Where? National, regional, cities?

Are you counting hagwons, universities, teacher training programs, camps?

Which visa classes?

What year are you referring to? Didn't you see that report 34-66% quit in 6 months, it'll be hard to get accurate figures even from the education offices.

You got driver AND a maid? I feel kind of cheated now. My driver, maid and secretary are all the same person. I'm going to have to report this to the NET union.
