Like I usually do, I turned on the tube to watch my favorite channel--Discovery--and was surprised to see Discovery Channel Korea. So what the heck's going on? Is this normal, or a short-term thing? Anyone else puzzled, or angered by this? This is serious! |

I noticed the same thing when I turned on my TV this morning I really hope it's a temporary thing, but I'm not holding my breath. It is sad though, as Discovery Channel was the only channel I had with all english programming.
I will say too, that the programming on regular discovery channel looks a lot more interesting that this new "Discovery Channel Korea." No offense, but if I want to watch about people eating squid, I can turn on about 15 of the other channels I currently get.
Well, here's to hoping it goes back to the regular Discovery Channel. |

| Getting the Korean filter on lets those in charge screen out any "objectionable" content, i.e. anything that encourages critical, independant thinking. Hopefully they'll ease up on this one and allow it to revert back to non-Korean Discovery channel. |

| Until the South Korean people themselves start crying foul on this crap it's likely to continue (still hope it does revert back, 'tho). 'Course to them it's all normal social programming as usual. |

| I have Skylife. I forget what "color" package I have (i think its the green one, anyway, its one below premium.) I get the History, NatGeo Wild and Adventure, and Discovery. I've had these channels for a year and a half and quit watching them...They loop the same shows over and over. I only watch BBC and CNN International now. |

| I just noticed this as well, I haven't noticed any changes in programs yet. But every single commercial is for Kobaco; I looked it up and its the Korean Broadcast Advertising Corporation, so I'm guessing a lot more Korean commercials are on the way. Also, the Discovery Channel commercials have no voice overs anymore, wtf |

I happened to be watching when the change took place late Sunday night. The screen froze up for a few minutes, then went black for about half an hour. After that, it was Korean. It appears that they are sticking to the popular English shows until midnight, although the schedule is a little different.
Also, at least some of the shows are a couple weeks behind our previous incarnation. For instance, Monday's episode of Storm Chasers was the season premiere, the same episode that was on 2 weeks ago. |
