So I wanted to ask the Dave's community for some advice about my current situation. I am currently working at a hagwon with my contract ending in November. The hagwon was recently sold, so im unsure about how things are going to turn out. My goal is to eventually teach @ either university or public school, however my contract end date makes things quite difficult. Should I pursue an EPIK position now, while they are recruiting for fall positions or stay on and wait 5 months after the end of my contract for a public school position in the spring? Or is there a third option or possible 4th option I haven't considered? Thank you for your input. |

Ending in Nov.?
options:
i) quit (secure a LOR) and transfer to a PS in August. (new documents required).
ii) quit (MNR). Leave Korea (turn in your ARC/canceling the visa), return, apply to a PS, then do a visa run to get your new visa. (new documents required).
iii) finish your contract, extend till Jan/Feb then transfer to a PS (new documents required).
iv) finish in November and spend the winter on a beach in SE Asia. Return to a PS with the new term intake (start March 2). (new documents required).
NOTE: In ALL cases, transferring or moving to a PS position WILL require you to submit NEW documents (CRC and degree COPY with apositlle - employer requirement).
