I've had a pretty basic Samsung cell phone along with the SK two-year contract I have (signed up in Oct. 2009, so will be done Oct. 2011). My Korean friend signed it up in her name but I pay from my bank account. The phone wasn't the free phone with the contract, but was the next cheapest (maybe 30,000 won extra?).
Just recently it's started to show signs that it's on its way out. If I'm in the midst of texting and someone calls it freezes so that I can't answer, can't reject the call, and can't go to the main menu. To get it unfrozen I have to take the battery out and turn it on again.
It also regularly fails to send MMS (not the shorter SMS) texts. I will hit send and it will tell me it has failed and to retry, and after retrying a few times it quits and says the message is "saved to draft box." But there is either no trace of the message in the draft box or a message with no text in the body.
Plus just recently it has randomly decided to reboot itself without me pressing the off/on switch.
Kind of annoying considering I've had it less than two years. Do I need to take it into the store where I got it? Or I assume I can go to Samsung A/S- which is a bit annoying as well as this is in Seoul, and I am no longer in Seoul.
If it isn't repairable do I need to buy a new phone, or will they provide me with one considering I'm under contract? I'd love to upgrade to a nice new smart phone, but am going to wait to do this until I go back to the US a few months after my two-year contract is over.
Sorry this message got long, and thanks for the help. |
