I've tried buying an OS update for my Macbook on the Apple Korea website but have been unsuccessful due to credit card error. Does anyone have the goods for me? A family pack or something?
Or, is there a way to get it for free? |

I'm guessing you haven't heard about torrents? If you want to pay for it, use the Apple website based in the country your credit card is registered with. |

Sure, you could torrent it, but at 45,000 won it's not that expensive compared to most other mac/windows OS updates. If you're having trouble, call the Apple Korea number and they can handle bank transfers.
Just FYI, they're holding their developer's conference in about 2 months in June so there's a lot of speculation they'll be announcing a date for the next update, Lion, then. If you can hold off, it might be worth it.
And yes, torrents all have lots of copies if you're just looking at not paying for it. |

I bought mine at a Frisbee store in Seoul.
I believe torrents do work though.
Unless you need Snow Leopard, I would just wait to buy Lion (if you plan to pay for it). |

You can download the 10.6.7 combo update from the site without having to update from 10.6.5. I installed Snow Leopard on my Hackintosh by installing from the DVD (v10.6.0) then going straight to 10.6.7. |

Ah. Good.
When I googled, I didn't see any links for 10.6.7. I edited my instructions. |

Thanks for the tips everyone. I will just hold out a couple months for the new one. A couple months don't matter...have been going old style for 4 years now without updating. |

What are the specs on your current Apple Computer? I ask because I've read several times that Lion (the new OS) will be requiring higher processor power, so at 4 years you may be SOL. I think the requirement was a Core 2 Duo. I'm pretty sure my Macbook that just turned 3 doesn't have one. |
