Always added on the spot. That's been my experience anyway. 30,000 won for single re-entry and 50,000 won for multiple re-entry. Take your alien registration card and passport. Fill out the form there and pray that there aren't a hundred people in front of you. Can't remember but take a photo just to be safe.

I don't know for sure, but I thought Americans got one free re-entry permit per visa, and Brits got a multiple re-entry permit by default.

Check with your embassy to be sure, but hopefully that will save you time and money

If you are here AND a passport holder from the UK then you must apply for a re-entry PERMIT at your local immigration office. It is free for UK citizens.

For those others who are not from the UK:

US citizens USUALLY get a multi entry visa. If they extend their visa they must BUY a re-entry permit.

For the rest of E2 holders, a nulti-re-entry permit is 50k won and must be obtained from your local immigration office (or can be done on-line if you have a credit card).

If you only require a SINGLE re-entry permit you can obtain one from the airport. The cost is 30k won. (again, free for Brits.)

Like the previous poster said, it can be done online if you have a credit card. Just did it a couple weeks ago myself, it was a breeze. Here's the link:

You can also get a single re-entry permit at the airport on your way out.

30k won each time and you can do it as often as you need during your stay here.

ttompatz, I might be needing a single re-entry visa in the next couple of days and I'm not liking the thought of trekking all the way to immi to get it.

Where and how at the airport can it be done? Do you do it at the check-in counter of your airline?

I had to get one earlier this year. If I remember correctly it's right, there's an office right by the customs counters. So if you are facing the counters, the office is on your left closest to the diplomat customs counter....

ttompatz will probably be able to confirm or deny my claim...

Sorry to butt in on this thread, but I have a related question...

I have a British Passport with E-2 Visa Single Entry.

I go to Japan on Thursday for vacation.

Do I need to go to my local imm office before hand or can I simply get one at point of destination.

I am going by ferry from Busan!

Thanks for any help
