I see. I heard Intel had a recall on some chips, so some people ended-up with a new-in-the-box chip. Just wondered if the same happened to this, but hadn't heard AMD had a recall.
You must have gone Intel to get something faster than that.
I was thinking of updating my wife's gigabyte board with updated Bios, but am scared to do it. I have updated bios' before, but I'm getting conflicting information from the Gigabyte site about our board. It says V1 on the board, but the website scan says V2. Then there's a warning to be sure that you have the right version before you flash it, or you'll brick it. Nice.
Was thinking of upgrading her processor, but she really doesn't need it, and she values quiet computers above speed. All she does is surf and Office, anyway. |

intel had a problem with motherboard chipsets, not the CPU's themselves. if you need help with flashing your bios let me know and i can probably help point you in the right direction.
