Seoul City Improv, will host a night of hilarity and fun Saturday, April 16th at Chinook Bar in the Sinchang/Cheonan area. SCI will perform short form improv comedy a la Whose Line is it Anyway?, plus ...long form improv!

Admission is 10,000 won. All funds will go towards Seoul City Improvs tour through Canada, summer 2011, and SCI's Beijing performance April 2011.

Featuring post-show music by THE SPANISH LOUNGE!!
...
Listings Information:
Venue: Chinook Bar (Helicopter Bar) in Asan-si
Date: Saturday, April 16th, 2011
Time: 8:00PM
Price: 10,000 won

We will form a Facebook group to help with carpooling to the venue. It is definitely worth the trip to see the freaking awesome Helicopter Bar (inside a replica Chinook) and the freaking awesome improv.

Founded in 2007, Seoul City Improv is Seouls first improv comedy troupe in English. SCI began as a short form improv group, in the style of Whose Line is it Anyway? Favorite games include What?, Asides, Freeze, Party Quirks, and Countdown. Beginning in late 2009, SCI expanded to include long form improv as well, with games such as Montage, Small Town, and Meanwhile, Elsewhere.

With nearly 50 shows in the past 4 years, SCI regularly performs in Seoul. Over 70 performers from all over the world have graced the SCI stage, and over 150 have participated in rehearsals. SCI performed internationally in 2010 in Taiwan and Tokyo. In 2011, SCI will participate in the Hong Kong and Beijing Improv festivals, as well as tour to the Canadian Fringe Festival circuit in summer 2011.

For more information about SCI, contact Margaret Whittum at 010-7218-8557 / [email protected], or check out our new website at www.seoulcityimprov.com.

You might want to mention that its VERY easy to get to this area! The subway (line 1) goes all the way to Shinchag...the KTX goes to the CheonanAsan station and there you can get the subway to Shinchang....and buses between Cheonan Bus Terminal and Shinchang run about every 10 to 15 minutes.

And the helicopter bar is AWESOME!!

Get out of the freakin' city and see some of the countryside!!

It's easy to get to Sinchang, but not easy to get to Helicopter Bar.
Does anyone know the directions to Helicopter Bar or a website that has
the address in Korean?

If you make it to Sinchang or Onyang station, you will have to cab it to the Helicopter Bar. I am not sure if simply saying "Helicopter Bar" is enough.

Spanish Lounge are a pretty great band and do great cover of Dinosaur Jr.'s Freak Scene.

The Chinook/Helicopter bar is near Spavis.
So you can always use that as a destination when it comes to Onyang
Station cab drivers. Hopefully someone will post more specific directions soon.
