Hi all,
I was just wondering if anybody has done a visa run to fukuoka in the last month? I've e-mailed the Korean embassy there but had no response. I'm looking to go next week so i want to check a) they are still open and b) that it is still an overnight service.
I have read through every page on the Visa Run Fukuoka sticky, but there was no recent information and some one has posted something about a background check that has to be done by Korean Education if you go on a japan visa run. It's quite hard to just find an up to date straight answer.
Secondly, i was wondering if anyone has done a visa run to Bangkok recently? I understand that it is also an overnight service, and this could be a cheaper option if i have to stay over for a couple of nights.
Sorry if this info is out there, but i have looked through a ton of posts again and can't find any concrete up to date answers.
Thanks! |

| My boyfriend did his visa run in Fukuoka last month. He arrived on a Monday morning around 12pm, dropped off his paperwork, and picked it up the next morning The required paperwork included his visa issuance number, two passport photos, and an application which he picked up at the consulate. From what he told me, it was incredibly easy and stress free. |

| I did a visa run to Fukuoka a couple of weeks ago. There was no request for a background check by Korean Education. If you turn in your application by 3:30 pm you can come back the following day after 10 am to get your visa. I thought getting a visa in Fukuoka was much easier than in San Francisco. At the Korean consulate in San Francisco it took 5 working days and they wanted to see my transcripts, original degree, and I had to fill out the medical form again. None of that was required in Fukuoka. |

simple visa run and NOT a first E2:
overnight service.
You will need:
application form (at the desk)
visa confirmation number
photo
fee
passport
