my gf just bought me a sweet oven. i didn't start seriously cooking until i got to korea so i'm excited to use it. any of you guys have any simple recipes that you'd like to share?
so far i've made oatmeal cookies and roasted chicken and roasted potatoes. mmmm. |

If you're taking the time to make that, the world is your oyster.
I recommend lasagna!
Pasta: Mix eggs and flour. Mix in some steamed chopped spinach to make it green.
Sauce 1: Pork, Beef, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, canned tomatoes, canned tomato sauce
Sauce 2: Butter, Flour, milk, cheese
Instructions:
Knead eggs and flour until it's pasta
Put some meat sauce on the base
Layer of pasta
Layer of meat sauce
Dribble some white sauce
Layer pasta
ad infinitum.
Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and put under the grill for a more delicious version than the Italians do. |

| Start making bread. Google "5 minute bread" to start, then try more complicated recipes. The beauty is that you can substitute ingredients and make a large variety of bread. The 5 minute bread is a no-knead bread, but once you get used to kneading, it's fun. |

thanks for the ideas guys.
i made a batch of chocolate chip cookies last night. they were moist and yummy last night. today, they seem kind of cakey. i read on google that u should reduce the baking soda to make it less cakey. is this right? also, how do u make it chewy? i like chewy cookies. |

I only use enough batter to hold the chocolate chunks together. Less baking soda will help, too.  |

do you have a dummy proof recipe u use? and, how do your cookies usually turn out (soft/chewy/moist/crunchy?)
i use this recipe:
Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
only difference is that i put the batter into the fridge for an hour before baking. |

| I really just play with ingredients. It's mostly an eye-balling of amounts. I haven't made chocolate chip in a while (been on a branana muffin kick) but will let you know if I make them soon. |

| Dont be sad...guy. My gf doesnt buy me dick...but I broke her out of the Han princess mode and now its 50-50. Win some lose some. Ill show you some great recipes when I get home. Beer can chicken with rosemary was a good meal. |

| Beer butt chicken is awesome. I usually do it on the BBQ though. Might even make that tonight. Plus it gives me an excuse to buy better canned beer. |
