I checked the national Health Insurance contribution rate. And it looks like they raised it to 5.64%, from just the employee's side.
But they seem to offer discounted rates if your in the lower income bracket.
Reduction Rate (%)
* Worker in remote island or area: 50%
* The self-employed insured in farming or fishing village: 22%
* The insured with low-income: 10~30%
* The insured with dependent who is at least 65 years or disabled: 30%
o The total reduction rate must not exceed 50% of the monthly contribution.

Does any know how Korea defines low-income? Is under 3 million a month counted? |

no.
the overall rate is now 5.64% That's up from 5.08% in 2008. woop dee doo.
you pay half, the school pays half. Your health insurance contribution is 2.82%
check the chart layout on the bottom of your nhic link under imposing and collecting the contributions. |
