I'm leaving Korea at the end of the month and selling my cell phone. I told the guy who's going to buy it he could just use the service registered to me (SK prepaid) but now I'm wondering if I should get the service transferred to his name, just to avoid any possible problems if I end up returning to Korea. Should I get the service transferred to his name or is this something I don't need to worry about? |

Yes, you should un-register it. If you don't, then it's impossible for him to do it in the future (he's not you, doesn't have your ID number). Phone breaks, wants to change phones, has a problem with billing/charges, whatever - he can't do anything about it. So really it's a problem for him. BUT, since it's in your name, it's possible he could do something that causes trouble for you in the future.
It's a simple thing to do, so why not? |

what trouble can you cause with a prepaid? the worse that could happen to the new buyer, i'd imagine, is losing his/her number if the phone is lost. |

This. I forgot we tried to register the phone of a guy who didn't unregister his phone before leaving Korea and it was useless because of it. |
