How does it work in Korea?
Let's say we have a Kia Morning and a Hyundai Porter going from Incheon to Daegu. How much would the toll fee be for each?
Does the fee change during the day or night or based on traffic conditions?
Thanks. |

Not more than about 12,000won per vehicle. Probably less......don't know if it's cheaper at night.
I've heard cars like Kia Morning get a discount at expressway tolls because of their 1 liter engines.......actually, I have a Morning but I've never taken it on the expressway. I use a bigger car for long journeys! |

Between Seoul Toll Gate to Daegu East,
Class 1 (most sedans and trucks<2.5ton) 13100 Won flat
Class 6 (subcompacts/city cars) 6550 Won flat
(Total distance: 276.1 km)
per Korea Expressway Corp.
However, it is often reported that Kia Morning in particular gets mistaken for a Class 1 vehicle by some old sensors at the toll booths, while the model has been re-classified into Class 6 since 2008. Drivers of Kia Morning are advised to pay attention to the toll monitor for one's classification and ask toll collector to adjust the toll manually if miscalculated. |

| Don't go through the Hipass lanes unless you have one of those little machines in your car with the card. I did that a few times before I finally got the hang of going through the correct lane. If you do, it's no sweat, they send you a bill. |
