Hey,

After my contract ends I am leaving Korea for a vacation for 2 weeks and then upon my return my school is flying me home. They mentioned that I should pay a visa renewal fee since I am not leaving at the exact end of my contract. I told them I don't need that and will only come back as a tourist, spend 1 night, get my stuff, and leave the next day.

Is there a problem with this I am overlooking? I assume since my ARC card will be invalid at that point, I can just come back on a tourist visa with no questions asked? I'm American if it's relevant.

Thanks!

IF you have your ticket home in your pocket then there is no problem with returning as a tourist after your vacation. Your plan would be fine.

You can also get a "free" extension of up to 30 days as long as you can show your air-ticket home (dated within 30 days of your ARC expiry).
