Softball Sunday...changed to Softball Saturday (May 14th, 4:00 pm)
We waited long for a chance in the weather forecast for the weekend.
It looks like there are some possibly heavy showers in the morning, and again in the evening this Sunday. Hoping we miss the rain seems a little much.
I'm going to go ahead and reschedule this for next Saturday, May 14th at 4pm. Hopefully things will have will not be too hot. I'm sorry if this messes anyone up.
Co-Ed Softball in Cheonan/Asan
We are looking to start a mini slow pitch softball league, co-ed is just fine.
I work at Sunmoon University and we have between seven and 12 people and need more. Everyone is welcome. You don't have to be an athlete to play softball.
Send me a message on this with an email/mobile, and I will give you my contact info., and let you know where we are with people. We are aiming for a Sunday, May 8th, 2011 trial run at this. 3PM Start.
Otherwise you can post here and I will respond to you.
There is a shuttle bus that comes out here (not sure what you need to ride it), a city bus, and a taxi will take you out here as well (about 10 kilometers from Yawoori).
We have a dirt filed (you know how it is) with a good back stop. The field gets used by two or thee baseball teams for practices/games, and the occasional soccer game. We can reserve the field and probably have a regular Sunday or Saturday afternoon game without any issues.
Eventually, if there is another location someone knows about, we can try that.
To get us started, I have:
a set of bases,
some softballs and
a men's 30 oz. softball bat
and a woman's 25oz softball bat
Your glove would of course be your own responsibility. Homeplus has some decent gloves.
We would like to get things rolling in May if we could. If we can get enough people for a couple of teams for a twice monthly, or even weekly game it would be great. Four teams would even be better.
I think first we should just have people show up and see what we have.
For those unsure, softball is baseball light (shorter distances between the bases, sloooow-pitch, larger ball, an extra person in the outfield). A guy I know who played cricket as a kid does just fine when we've played.
Thanks,
Brian
