My contract ends in July and my school is not going to be able to rehire me for next year. As such, I am looking for a new school. I asked my co-teacher for my documents (to send to my recruiter) and she said she thinks I cannot have them back. Since she wasn't sure, she called the GEPIK office to ask about it but whoever she tried to contact is out of the office until monday.
Shouldn't I be able to get back my documents so I can send them to a recruiter and find a different school?
Any input as to what I should do? |

Sometimes you 'ask' and sometimes you 'tell'.
All I did was ask for them, though. Good luck. |

The school and GEPIK don't have your documents.
They would have gone to Kimmi and they are GONE for good.
New job, new visa = new documents.,
You better get started on it now or prepare to head home in July and restart the job search from there (good thing your school pays for the flight home).

Yes PROVIDED he has time left on his ARC at the end of his contract and/or can get a LOR from his principal AND can complete the transfer/E2 extension before his ARC expires.

Well if his contract is ending he wouldn't need a LOR right?
There's typically some leeway between your contract ending and your ARC expiring isn't there? I'm banking on that for my next job.
I don't get what documents he'd need that his school would be in possession of anyways... |

The only documents the school wouldn't have handed over to immigration is your degree certificate. That you should get back. |

No, that's wrong. Here are the options:
A) Take a break between schools. Get all new documents and new visa. No LOR needed in this case.
B) Get the LOR, transfer before your first contract is up and you are good to go for another year.
If you are like me and just want to continue, option B is by far the best route with the least amount of work. If you need time off, you'll have to get new documents. So, start now with the CBC. |
