This is my first smartphone. It feels good to be in 2011. I had my dinosaur LG phone for 3 years. I am surprised it stayed together this long.

the desire is much heavier than the galaxy phone, but it is about the same weight as the iphone. The screen is about as big as the entire iphone too. haha. my gf looked at her phone then at mine then just kind of sighed. it mde me feel good.

The droid screens are generally beautiful. very bright and high quality. a lot of hte stock apps just dont cut it though. i find myself in the market downloading stuff to customize my phone to the max. widgets and menu customization really make the phone yours.

I walked into the itaewon store. said can i have an htc? 60/month unlimited data, signed the 2 year contract and was out! all you need is your alien card and bank account. i am e-2 and its no longer an issue. if you leave before your contract is up you can easily sell it or give it to someone.

Welcome to the club of three (so far that I count using it here on Dave's).

I love my HD but coming from a Nokia 5800, there are some personal "cons" about it. Audio is clean and good enough for me but the way the speaker is positioned just irritates me a little. Comparing to Nokia, where its speakers surround the unit, makes a huge difference. It's weight won't be noticable when carried by hand, but really is uncomfortable in shirt/jacket pockets. No front faced camera. Back camera is protruding. And what ticks me off from time to time is the only case good enough to access all the buttons is the jelly case. First jelly case has a stupid looking pattern. Rubber case makes it look good but aren't molded enough to match the buttons that I needed to either press really hard (while fumbling) or pry the case for access. I love a leather case but it won't give full access to the screen as it covers the sides quite a bit.

Yet still, Galaxy S and Iphone 3 or 4 owners at work still take a glance at their unit whenever they see me playing with my HTC Desire HD. Everything inside it is awesome!

It's an Android! Everything's workable... and I'm speaking from a non-geek POV.
