This is posted over in the tech forum but no luck yet. Anyone know where? Anyang or Cheonan area preferable but I'm willing to trek to Yongsan.

I haven't been there in a couple of years, but the HP service center in Yongsan was located in the first building when you cross the foot-bridge (over the railroad tracks) when leaving IPark mall (metro stn). It was at the far back on the floor that the bridge takes you to (I think). Good luck.

It says: go out exit 3 from the station, turn right, follow the yellow line in the middle of the ground, turn right again and go through tunnel until electronics arcade, go to 3rd floor at the back. Follow signs. Open 9-6 weekdays, 9-1pm Saturdays

I'm not sure if this would be much closer

but there is an HP A.S center in Bundang at Seohyeon Station....it is out exit 5 and across from the Nonghyup Bank and Dunkin Donuts/Kyobo Book store...(the guy there is nice and can speak some english too)

Just out of curiosity, did you buy the HP product in Korea, or in another country? I've worked for HP tech support, and, at least in the US, if you bought the product abroad, they won't service it.

They serviced my American laptop at the Yongsan service center~ but I don't recommend them. They charge quite a bit and suck at replacing laptop parts. I ended junking the laptop and buying a netbook because they were too incompetent to figure out what was wrong with it and fix it at a reasonable price. I pointed out from the start what the issue was and I wasn't able to replace the hardware myself and needed the parts, and I wrote it all out. They took the laptop for a few days and repeated what I wrote down and said I am right and then told me it will cost like 600,000 to replace. So I said nevermind and bought a 350,000 won netbook.

theres a HP service centre close to yangche station (line 3 양재) thats pretty decent. re-installed windows and fixed some startup problems for 30,000won.

I was looking at replacing my battery for my laptop, but it was much more expensive to buy it here then it is to buy it in the US and have it shipped here.

I took my laptop there and because it was out of warranty they suggested the repair shop int he basement. The motherboard was shot and some spilled coffee corroded other parts, so they gave it back. however the keyboard wasn't working when it was returned. I guess they figured it would be junked anyway.

All you need is the phone number of the service center nearest you. A technician will come and take it away and return it fixed.

My HP laptop originally bought in SA contracted the most foul virus which caused a 'contact your vendor' to pop up on the screen.

Anyway they replaced windows, but I lost all my downloads, photos etc.

Does anyone know if those things are still buried in the pc somewhere, whether they can be extracted or not?
