I love this line:
"if innocent consumers and vendors arent using the big volume of 50,000 won notes in circulation, it may be logical to assume that not-so-innocent people are."
No! |

Duh, but it's still ridiculous to have a 10,000 not be the biggest cash when you deal in the millions. The 50,000 is needed. |

Effectively, the largest note is 100,000 won, if you consider the Korean checks (really a money order) to be a note. The problem with using those for bribes and other illegal endeavors, of course, is they can be traced easily.
A more practical step, in my opinion, is to have a 20,000 won note. It's not that much more valuable than the 10,000 won note, but it will halve the size of the sheaf of cash one carries.

It's like the US dollar. There are more big bills outside the US than inside. I wish I could find the source of where I read or heard that. |

If you're going to consider the 100,000 won check, then you should consider the 1,000,000 won check as well. |

The world would be much better off if we all just got microchipped and the money was stored inside our brains. Then they could just scan our brains, or we could send the money via internet and our brains connect wirelessly.
Some of you might think that's a bad idea, but cavemen probably thought flying was a bad idea too... |
