Well i had my interview last night and I found out this morning I failed. I thought this was totally unheard of, but i somehow managed to do it.

I dont understand, i prepared for the interview and i thought i did alright. Did not having a letterhead on one of my letters kill me? My recruiter said it was fine when i applied and I tried to explain to the interviewer why it didnt have one. I am not sure she understood, but it says on EPIKs website "if possible include one." But all of a sudden I have read its a requirement on other sites.

I also have decent TEFL certification, I went to a school in Prague.

It may have been my GPA too, which is slightly below 2.5 But if these are the reasons, why even interview me?

I was rejected too.

The guy in the interviewer stumbled over a question about marijuana and narcotics. I think that may have been the reason.

It's not fair. I thought I spoke slowly enough and that, but it's not the end of the world. Will you recruiter try and find you another place in Korea for when you want to go?

Since you got to that stage in the application process, it means you have a competitive application. If you would still like to teach at public school, check out the other programs that are out there or listings for individual positions at public schools.

I am from New York, but I do not speak with too much of an accent. Sometimes a little fast, but i caught myself. Its clear to me EPIK has gotten a lot of applicants this recruiting cycle, the fact that it took three weeks for an interview is unheard of. Between the economy, GEPIK budget cuts and what happened in Japan, a lot of people are applying to EPIK.

I am considering GEPIK, but look at this they are having a hiring and renewal freeze this summer, guess thats not an option. I could wait, but some say GEPIK may be phased out or drastically cut back.
