Is it possible to root and use custom ROMs on Korean phones?
I ask because there is some issue with the Motorola phones in that a lot of the hacks only works with AT&T because much of the roots/ROMs come from US hackers.
Do you guys root/install custom ROMs on your KT/SK/LG branded phones? Does this cause any issues with the Korean providers?
Sorry if my questions are kind of stupid; I'm pretty n00b in the smartphone game...but I love hacking the crap out of my devices.
you might want to check matpclub.com, it seems to be a haven for custom ROM/rooting.
I've successfully installed a UK rom on my S2 and rooted it, phone calls, mobile data working fine. KT apps and wifi are not available to me, no big deal until they get a working root for the KT branded version.
For A/S you just reflash back to the stock Korean ROM or unroot it.
