|
|
Hi guys,
thinking on picking up a new laptop either at Yongsan or online.
I dont want to bother having someone install English Windows after purchasing it. Id like to have it on the laptop right out of the box.
Does anyone know if any companies provide English OS or are they all in Korean? I heard HP does, and they give both an English and Korean version CD of Windows. Not sure though
Thanks!! |

In Yongsan they will usually load English windows for you if you ask. |

Yes. I bought a Compaq before and requested it be loaded with English Windows. No problem. |

Ya be careful half the time I would think any English Windows loaded at Yongsan would be pirated. Plus Yongsan is most of the time a rip unless you are willing to spend the time looking and dealing.
Ordering Online is an OK idea but anything from overseas will likely get taxed or have a customs duty added later which can add to the cost.
My EX-GF bought a Sony laptop from Hi-Mart (Korean Electronics Store) and when she turned on first time it gave the option of either English or Korean in setting up Windows 7. Once choice was made you where stuck with it. |

There are several authentic HP stores in Yongsan's Sun-in building, as well as I-park. Yes, the HP/Compaq's, as well as Sony's give you the option of installing English from boot instead of Korean. I know this for a fact, and have helped a few friends do it with the HP's. Sony's literature says so right on it, as well. |

What I meant by ordering online, is with Gmarket or Auction, not overseas.
And yeah Im skeptical about Yongsan and having them install "their" Windows.
I remember my old Compaq, there was an English AND Korean Windows CDs in the box
But if thats true about Sony, HP and Compaq, then thats good news as long as if it pertains to EVERY model |
