Traffic Broadcasting System at FM 95.1 is set to attract all foreigners residing in Seoul as regular listeners of its English-language broadcasts. Launched just two months ago on March 15, it is the country's first English-based traffic advisory broadcast, providing up-to-date information on road conditions, weather and community events for some of the 74,000 foreign residents in the capital.
TBS president Nam Seung-wook said the English broadcasts are targeted at all foreign residents and visitors in Seoul to better provide necessary information. The first morning broadcast is at 6:50 and runs again at 7:50 and 11:50. Evening reports begin at 5:50, with follow-up runs at 6:50 and 7:50. In addition, two programs providing various information on the capital city are also available to listeners. "Hi Seoul, The City at Your Feet" airs at 9:05 a.m. every day in both languages by a native English-speaker and a local radio MC. At 9:05 p.m., the most popular program "I Love Seoul" is aired, hosted by English-speaking volunteers delivering news on foreign communities and current events.
