Hi guys, new arrival here.
How much should I pay for internet and cable tv?
My needs:
1. No contract (but will sign one if necessary)
2. Decent internet speed
3. At least SOME English language channels (Movies, Sports channel that shows Premier League Football)
Can you recommend a company and let me know what I should pay?
My co-teacher tried talking to the company but neither she nor the person on the phone seem to know anything about SBS Espn.
Do Star Sports show Premier League games?
Thanks,
Any info would be great. |

First it depends where you live. You can either get cable or Skylife satellite TV.
Most packages offer SBS ESPN and yes, Star Sports offers EPL games but the pic quality is bad, especially if you have an HD TV.
You'll have lots of movie and other channels showing American TV shows like "CSI," "Without a Trace" and "Criminal Mind." You can also get BBC Entertainment via Skylife or SK Broadband IPTV. |

If you want a really good package then I'd recommend KT-Olleh-SkylifeHD.....Very fast internet, wi-fi router, masses of English channels including the all-important SBS-ESPN for premiership matches.
It's a little more pricey than other packages....about 55,000pm......but I think it's worth it. |

Thanks for the replies guys.
I'm in Seoul (beside last stop on subway).
I plan on buying a cheapish analogue tv. So HD won't come into it.
So what price are we talking for those channels with Without a Trace, Star Sports, BBC stuff etc.
I've been offered internet for 30,000 and tv for 20,000 with KT. So that's 50k in total.
Not sure which speeds and not sure how many channels but it does include Star Sports. Are movie channels standard for that kind of money? |

i have kt.
it's about 55,000 per month for 100mbit internet and iptv. i have the hd package and i pay a bit extra for news channels (cnn, fox, bbc, euro, etc) and around 10 movie channels. internet is extremely fast and no caps which is the most important thing (i'll never be able to readjust to canadian internet). |

What is iptv? Is that a company that KT get to do the tv side of things?
I would be really interested in the news channels.
Would it be possible to get a similar package to you but without the HD?
This is such a pain, my co-teacher is talking to the company on my behalf so it's hard to get across what I really want. |

IPTV is Internet protocol TV but the channel selection can be limited. SK Broadband's IPTV has BBC Knowledge but lacks CNN and BBC World. Qook aka KT Olleh IPTV has the news channels and Nat Geo Adventure (a channel on tourism) but not much else. And both IPTV providers have no good sports channels that will give you your soccer fix.
If you know the dong (neighborhood) and gu (ward) you live in, I can probably find the link to the cable TV company that serves it. |
