Carn't really complain, the prices are so low at the minute!

The first bill might be a shock for me when I'm running my AC though!

Hopefully the summer won't be as bad as last summer.

You think electricity is cheap in Korea? My bill is 150,000 sometimes........never less than 100,000.......without using A/C.........

I'm guessing your apt is registered as part of an office complex or something?

I've heard the rates are higher for 'non residential' places.

Mine is always w10-15,000 during the winter and 50-70,000 in the summer with AC running 5pm until the morning........

"and how to motivate people to cut down on energy consumption.

Good. Maybe some of their goals will be met.

Nope. It's a regular 3 bedroom in a regular residential high-rise complex. I think our bill is high because my wife has bought every electrical appliance known to man!!

Compared to other countries, the rates in Korea are very low.

In fact, a little bit more sensitivity from the Korean people on energy conservation wouldn't go astray (they seem to waste a lot of energy here....electronic billboards, neon lights, aircon with window open). So i'm glad the rates are increasing. If they won't take on board an environmental message, then maybe hurting their pockets will do some good.
