Has anyone worked at YBM's Cheongdam ECC, or does anyone know someone who has? I know many people have disparaging things to say about YBM, but I have already decided that I'd like to work with them. I'm mainly interested in hearing about experience with or knowledge of this specific ECC.

I have already searched the forum and did not find much information about this location. The two threads I found are these:

The second one, which includes some information about the branch, is from 2007, and the person who worked there was employed from 2002-2003, so I would greatly appreciate some more recent information.


Some of the questions I have are:

Are you satisfied with the housing that was provided? Have you been paid on time? Do you like the location? How would you rate the management and your coworkers? Would you re-sign or have you re-signed with this school?

Any information, including information that does not directly respond to these questions, would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to PM me as well.

You've already decided that you want to work for a chain that's facing a class-action suit for:

(a) Falsely reporting its employees as independent contractors.
(b) Using the reported status in (a) to avoid paying medical insurance, pension, and the correct tax rate.

I'm game. Why have you decided that?

This is the first I've heard of any lawsuit, particularly a class action suit, against YBM. Searching "ybm 'class action'" or "ybm lawsuit" on the forum and on Google yielded no results regarding such a suit.

Could you provide me with more information? Have you worked for YBM? Are you personally taking legal action or know someone who is taking legal action against YBM?

This impending legal showdown relates to another large chain not YBM.

Yes, I do know someone joining the suit.
Isn't the impending suit against CDI, aka Chungdahm?

Cheongdam is a dong next to Apujeong in Gangnam. The Cheongdam ECC doesn't have anything to do with CDI. I can understand the confusion though.

And just for the record, when the recruiter Aclipse told me I would be a good candidate for CDI, I declined. I wouldn't have joined the program even before I knew there was a class action against them, but thanks for the warning!
