SO my plan all year has been to find a position starting mid to late August. This will be my first trip to Korea as an ESL teacher. I only just discovered that my Criminal Record Check is only valid for 6 months from the date of issue. Mine was issued February 16th, so I suppose it expires August 16th. This is a problem right? I'm telling most people that the earliest date I am available to leave is August 18th.
My direct question is, how is my CRC used and at what point in this process is it needed? Do I send to to the school with my contract? Or do I bring it on the plane with me to give to some official in Korea? As long as I land a contract before August 16th, am I going to be ok? Or do I need to start the process over of getting another apostiled CRC? Let me know ASAP, thanks. |

Your CBC is sent along with your other documents to the employer who then sends them to immigration to apply for your visa confirmation number. It is an early step in the process.
Your CBC is good for 6 months from date of issue so it should be fine as long as it lands on the desk at immigration before Aug. 16.
