HiSeoul, as well. Yes, it's going to be one big festival in Seoul. You can see them all at the same time.

As part of HiSeoul, they will decorate the Cheonggyecheon stream

Great weather and food.

Highlights:

Malyasian Satay - 5 for 5,000 with a nutty, spicy satay sauce available with chicken or beef.

Gavin's sausages were tasty.

The Nepalese curry was heads above the Indian stuff.

The 10,000 won bottle of vodka at the Russian info desk wasn't a bad deal either.

Lows:

Philippines stand had no pork adobo or food. Just pineapples, bananas and beer.

There's some great food. There was a long line at the Turkish tent for ice cream and Mr. Kebab. There was some dancing in front of the Angolan tent. The tongue salad at the Uraguayan tent was very good. There are two different Russian tents. One is in the food court area and the other is at the stream, and it is selling food by Gostiniy Dvor.

This event continues for another day so you have plenty of time to enjoy the food. For those going on Sunday I would recommend the 3,000 won draft beers at the Austrian tent, everything at the Afghan tent, and check out the food and beer at the Vietnamese tent. Go early because some of the more popular tents did run out of food.

one thing I don't like.., but I am just nit picking is, the people year after year are selling the same food ... it hardly represents the countries true culinary flavors when the same guy is selling sausages! or the same guy is selling kebabs year after year. I think the embassies need to hand over the reins to other people and offer different things too..
it's getting boring and repetitive. still great fun.. just an idea...

Remember, it is only once a year and judging by some of the lines, not everyone is an adventurous eater. Some like those reliable and safe choices. Me, on the other hand, I like to try new things.
As for improving it, they could do this international food fair in different parts of Seoul with different restaurants representing the different cuisines. Maybe have one in Hongdae in June, Gangnam in July, Itaewon in August. You know, keep it rolling and give some other cooks have a chance to present their creations. This is one of the best events the city of Seoul sponsors and I'd love to see it expanded to other parts of Seoul. Just throwing out an idea.

The same goes with the Nigerian tent. If Angolans can show up why not Nigerians?

well, Itaewon has the food fair every year! which is HUGE.
hongdae, kangnam and other parts of seoul could do something though.

this is suppose to be a friendship fair.. I think the food is the main draw.
if half the people knew they had a food fair in Itaewon every year it might draw more crowds as the itaewon one is far better than this one.

Two more tents to recommend are the Russian tent and the Nepalese tent. The Nepalese tent features food made by the owner of a restaurant in Ansan.
