I'm looking for in-law horror stories and stories of success/happiness.

I've been quite lucky in that my wife's family treats me like I'm their son. I've been married to a great lady for three years, we have a daughter and are expecting another.

Does anyone have any stories where things have gone wonderfully -- or wonderfully terrible -- in the relations with their Korean in-laws?

I'm in the same boat as you. Been here ten years married for almost 6 of those and her parents have been great from the very first time I met them.

We also have a young son going on four years old.

Her parents own a bar and the first time I met them, the first thing they said to me was hello in English and the second thing, which had to be translated, was drink as much as you want, it's all for free.

This isn't research for a newspaper story, is it? That would be pretty pathetic, even for Korean English-language newspapers.

Yeah... It'd be nice to know if this is for the paper, or just for this forum.

Anything that gets published in the Korea Herald is a horror story. I'd avoid this one.
