I (26 male from NY, Korean-American, English teacher) and my friend (22 female from Seoul, Korean, graduating next month) are moving into the LLL's apartment complex in Jamsil. It's a 3BR, 2 bath and a 2 minute walk from the Han River. The complex was built in 2008 I believe. All furniture for the house will be provided by me, which means you need to bring stuff for your own room.

You should be a female, non-smoker, steady income, no pets. Your rent will be 750K, deposit 5,000K (negotiable), and we split the maintenance 3 ways equally.

Move in date is June 10th (friday). It would be great if you could move in on that date also but if not, we can manage about a month as long as you commit. Let me know if you're interested.

Just to clarify, would rent be 800k won each or 800k won total (split three ways)?

it would be 800 for you. We're looking at luxury apartments so total rent is around the 2-3K range.

Utils on an apartment are pretty steep, especially the management fees.

Realistically, you are looking at around 1 mil a month (utils, internet, TV, management fees, misc stuff like toiletries, cleaning supplies, etc...).

I don't mean to be rude, but why not live alone? I put 5 mil down, pay 600k a month for a 1 room that is decent sized, has a veranda, on the 3rd floor, and is a 5 minute walk from Garosugil Apgujong.

Although you could find a decent place for the same amount of money, the apartment we are planning to move into is a luxury apartment, which means dedicated security, parking, shopping complex, gym, modern bathroom (with a real shower booth), 5 minutes from the Han river, and generally a much nicer neighborhood (no loud bars, karaoke, clubs)

Of course lots of people don't really care about these amenities so it's completely understandable. I've been living alone for 3 years and I moved into a 3BR last year with my friends. Personally, living in a large apartment is more comfortable than living in a small officetel/villa
