Has anyone done a CELTA in Thailand? What was it like? Were accomodations taken care of? |

I did it at International house in Bangkok. I made my own arrangements in a hotel for about $25 a night. The international house were also making arrangements for people for about $20 a night in a studio apartment building. One guy stayed cheap for about $10 a night. I admit I've stayed in that $10 hotel a couple of times myself, it was fine.
I think it is also offered in Chiang Mai, which could be better. Bangkok was fine though; the school was near the big Lumpini Park so you could take a nice walk after class. |

The CELTA Chiang Mai program offers accommodations in the same jungle resort that classes are held in. International House basically took over a small hotel. The rooms are nice, the couple who runs the place are very friendly, and it's very convenient having your classrooms and computer lab a few steps away from your door, plus meals waiting for you after class.
Do a search for "Chiang Mai", this program has been discussed at length on this board before (albeit usually in Off-Topic). |
