I've organized a benefit concert tonight at Stompers for Wesley Putman. Two of my bands will be playing plus one other great band closing out the night. Here's the facebook event. Please invite lots of people.

For those of you, in any, don't use facebook, Here are the details.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wesley Putman was recently hit by a taxi and is in a coma. Here are some details of what happened and his progress.

Early the morning of Saturday, March 5, Wes was coming home from dinner with friends. We believe the taxi driver dropped him off across the street from his apartment block. He was crossing a major road (8-lanes) when he was struck by a taxi. The driver got out and called 911. The paramedics took him to Catholic University Hospital of Seoul- St. Mary's Hospital, which was only 2-blocks away.

The hospital staff called contacts from Wes's phone and called friends to get to the hospital. The attending physician decided surgery was needed for Wes; he performed a front-temporal craniotomy with hematoma removal. This was to relieve pressure on his swelling brain by removing a small part of the skull.

The surgery took approximately 4-hours and he was then taken to the neurological care unit. Since then, Wes has been moved out of the NICU and into his own room in the neurological wing of the hospital. He battled pneumonia in the early stages of his recovery, and was given a tracheotomy to help him breathe. A few weeks back, his skull was put back in so the full healing process of the head could continue.

Although still in a coma, Wes physicians have started him on some physiotherapy to help keep his body from deteriorating, and he is showing steady signs of improvement. He is breathing on his own, moving his head towards the sound of peoples voices, opening his left eye and looking toward familiar voices, squeezing peoples hands, and yawning. All of which his care takers say are good steps along the road to recovery.

To find Stompers first find Hooker Hill, because Stompers perches on top: go out Itaewon Station (line 6) exit 3, turn right by the fire station and then take your first left and go up hooker hill. Stompers is at the top on the left.

Music by The Dirty 30s, Kimchi Cowboys (with an itchin to play new lineup) and one more band T.B.A. There will be a raffle with prizes, Dwayne from Stompers is donating a bottle of Jack and a bottle of Jagermeister which can be collected when you're leaving, and Zelen, the most amazing Bulgarian restaurant is donating a free dinner for two. We're working on more prizes.

Music will start at 10 o'clock , but come early and start drinking and partying in style for a good cause.

10:00 pm - The Dirty 30s
11:00 pm - The Kimchi Cowboys
12:00 am - Red Devil Sunrise

Let's have a great time, and raise enough funds to help ease the financial burden on his family. Donations will be taken at the door, minimum donation of one thousand won, but dig deep for this worthy cause.

If you are not able to attend but still wish to help you may send donations to the following account.

Bank Name: Shinhan Bank
Account #:110-328-903130
Name on acct: Angelo Partemi (Wes's good friend)

His mom, Monitta has the bank card and we encourage her to use it for her daily costs living in Korea. She's been here since a few days after the accident (March 5) and literally stays with Wes 12-hours a day along with a caregiver she's paying for out of pocket.

You can also visit the Wesley Putman support page for details on his progress.
