Hey Guys/Gals,

I've seen ads pretty much everywhere for computer repair, but does anyone know of a place for general electronics repairs? I brought a device with me from the states assuming it would do 110 - 220v...I put a head adapter on it and plugged it in. One loud pop later my imported electronics device is now dead. It is still covered under warranty in the states so I could just ship it back and have a family member send it my way. I am wondering if it would be more economical to just have it repaired here if possible. The device is....

I would guess if only the transformer blew then you could find somebody at Yongsan who could replace the transformer if you walked around enough. I'd guess there are still a few old-style repairmen there who can diagnose and fix basic problems. But they're a dying breed. You might need some good intelligence to find one.

If other components got fried along with the transformer then you'd probably be better sending it home to be fixed..........although I would not mention that it had been plugged into a 250V socket. That would probably void the warranty.
